Celebrating Our 202nd Post

9:36 am

Just realised that the story we did the other day on Regator was our 200th post. We kinda missed the fact then, but never being ones to miss a party, we’ve decided to celebrate this post instead… our 202nd!

Just over 6 months ago we set out with a plan to try and cover the local tech/web scene…to try to increase awareness of what’s going on for those inside and outside of the industry.

During that time we’ve overcome a few obstacles,  like a complete HDD failure on our web server…oh yeah, and no backups… as well as a cease and desist letter. But we’ve also had some really good wins, including the creation of the Aussie Startup Index.

Numbers wise - since the Hard Drive failure in July, we’ve had over 25500 unique visitors come to the site in total. Not bad considering that our core readership gets full TNA articles via RSS so never has a need to hit the site.

A massive thanks to all of the “regular” TNA writers:

  • Geoff Evason
  • Mike Watkins
  • Lee Goodman
  • Paul Pajo
  • Malcolm Lambert

This site is unique in that it’s the fruit of the labour of a team of writers who contribute whenever they can around their “real” jobs and without pay. So know that when you read a post at TechNation Australia it exists because someone cared enough to post it, not because writing it was someone’s “job”.

We’re always looking for new writers, BTW, so if you’d like to contribute to TechNation Australia - particularly if you’re outside of Sydney (though we’ll take Sydney people too :) ) then drop me an email and I’ll explain how it works

Finally, a huge thank you to all of you, our readers, for continuing to support the site. As long as you keep reading, we’ll keep writing.

Spread the word!
