Web Startups To Feature At CeBIT Sydney + Get Your Startup Included In The Showcase For Free
April 6, 2009CeBIT Sydney 2009, Australia’s biggest tech trade show, is coming up on the 12th-14th May and it’s going to be a special one for the Aussie Tech Startup Industry.
This year sees the introduction of Webciety- a showcase of leading Aussie web apps. The Webciety concept was first launched at CeBIT in Germany this year and was incredibly successful. As a result, Jackie Taranto and the local Hannover Fairs crew have decided to run a similar showcase here.
So what exactly is Webciety?
It’s a special area of CeBIT that will highlight 12 local web tech startups. The area will be heavily promoted throughout the course of the show and will include a whole range of activities including demo booths, tech talks and discussion panels. When you consider that 35-40,000 attendees are anticipated to show up to CeBIT, and many of those have limited knowledge of what our local tech entrepreneurs are achieving, it’s going to be a massive opportunity to build our profile. On top of that the local Webciety will tie into CeBIT’s global Webciety efforts, so there’ll be huge exposure for the industry, and those involved, all over the world.
Oh yeah - the free bit… Hannover Fairs have set aside one of the 12 spots at Webciety for a “wildcard” entry who will enjoy the full benefits of Webciety for free.
If you’d like to be that Wildcard, and have your product or service featured at Webciety, all you need to do is fill in THIS FORM. Entries close on the 22nd of April, so don’t leave it too late.
Having spoken to Jackie, Gilad and the rest of Hannover Fairs team I’m really impressed with how much they’re doing to support the local tech startup space. As a result TechNation Australia has jumped on board and will be covering all the news and announcements (trust me, there’ll be some good ones!) as they happen.
Very exciting.
